Privacy policy

This is a simple static website, and its privacy story is correspondingly simple. Here is what we collect (very little), what our hosting provider collects (standard server logs), and what will change if we add analytics or an email list later.

What we collect directly: currently nothing

What our hosting provider collects

Like almost every website, this site is served by a hosting provider whose web servers keep standard access logs. These typically record your IP address, the pages you request, the time of the request, your browser's user-agent string, and the referring page. We use these logs, if at all, only for security and troubleshooting. They are retained and handled according to the hosting provider's own policies.

If you email us

If you contact us at contact@homesecurity-systems-alarms.com, we'll have your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to act on what you sent (for example, publishing a correction). We do not sell contact information or add you to any list without your explicit request.

Things we may add later - with notice

External links

Our articles link to manufacturer sites, government resources, and other third parties. Once you leave this site, their privacy policies apply, not ours.

Children

This site is written for adults making household purchasing decisions. It is not directed at children, and we knowingly collect no information from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top and describe the change plainly rather than hiding it in legal boilerplate. Meaningful changes (like adding analytics) will be stated in their own section, as above.

Questions

Email contact@homesecurity-systems-alarms.com with any privacy question and we'll answer honestly, including "we don't collect that."

A note on scope: this policy describes the site accurately as currently built, but it is a general statement, not legal advice. Depending on where you and our readers live, additional legal requirements may apply; the site owner should have this policy reviewed as the site grows.
